I recently spoke with Perry Atkinson, host of Focus Today, on his national radio/video podcast about the latest GOP primary debates and why Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina are so important to the candidates.
I told Perry that although it looks like Trump’s nomination is locked, it’s still early and anything can happen to upset his lead.
I reminded him what DeSantis said during the latest debate: the ‘polls could be wrong’… and he’s right.
They were predicting a Trump victory in 2020, a red wave in 2022, and a big GOP win in 2023, but none of those predictions happened.
I also explained how the candidates in the debate are coming off badly with the “persuadables,” the independent voters who can vote either way.
To them, Republicans seem too divided… Even the candidates spent more time attacking each other and Trump… but barely mentioned Biden.
Here are some of the pressing topics we also discussed:
- If Trump doesn’t make it, then will it be DeSantis?
- Why Republican infighting will turn away the “persuadables.”
- Why Vivek Ramaswamy may have trouble getting the Christian vote.
- Why DeSantis’ Get Out the Vote (GOTV) team is better than the rest of the GOP candidates.

Matthew 15:18 says: what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. Listen to what Trump says; that is who he is. DeSantis has proved himself as governor of Florida and I believe is a man who truly cares at the American people
