Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis was confronted by Laura Ingraham recently on her show on how he is different than Donald Trump.
Laura Ingraham started the interview by asking DeSantis about his poor poll numbers.
“You’re in second, albeit a distant second behind Trump,” Ingraham said. “You’re at 13%, Trump’s at 50%… You have more like 21%, I think, in Iowa. How do you go from number two to number one, given Trump’s huge lead in the polls?”
Laura asked again. His answer surprised her.
“He’s running on a lot of things he said in 2020 and didn’t deliver. He said he was going to drain the swamp—he didn’t.
He still defends hiring [FBI Director] Christopher Wray—He didn’t fire Wray. He didn’t fire Fauci…
He said Mexico was going to pay for the border wall- that didn’t happen. They started the wall, but we’ve got a lot to do to finish the wall.
He said he was going to eliminate the national debt, but they added over $8 trillion to the debt in 4 years.
And he promised he’d appoint a special counsel for Hillary Clinton, then after the election, 2 weeks later, he said forget about it.
You gotta deliver on these things 100%, or you’re not going to turn the country around.”
Then Laura asked DeSantis if he was scared about his upcoming debate with California Governor Gavin Newsom in November.
DeSantis smiled and answered, “California is a symptom of American decline, and Florida shows the pathway to American revival… I know we’re winning the debate because we have so many California license plates showing up in my state. They [California] have done so poorly… the homelessness, the crime, the high taxes, the woke ideology, the lockdowns, people are fleeing.”

This article is POINTLESS. DeSantis is out, whether you like it or not. No candidate has ever been as out in front as Trump is. People are SICK TO DEATH OF THE STATUS QUO. Please, if you don’t stop trying to push DeSantis and get behind Trump (the ONLY man who can save our nation), then unsubscribe me from these nonsensical articles.
I would love to see Trump as president again, but I believe very strongly that just the names Trump, MAGA, etc., have. turned people’s brains off over the years. I voted for him, regardless of his way of speaking, and he did an outstanding job of turning our nation around in many amazing areas. In spite of all this, I believed brainwashed Americans, especially Democrats, might actually vote for DeSantis as a trusted person who can help the Country as a shole, whatever their politics.
Conservatism and the GOP are much, much greater than any one person, including Trump. He did some great things as President, for which we should be grateful. But we need to move on. If Trump wins the GOP nomination (which seems like a foregone conclusion UNLESS God intervenes, which I pray happens), the following four years will be all about him. We need someone who has the character, emotional maturity and wisdom to keep policy, not himself, front and center; someone who can garner respect even from his ideological enemies because of his exemplary life. Sadly, Trump is not that guy. He’s not the savior of our country: Jesus is. And He can use whomever He chooses to do His work.
Agree with Lynnette McDermott and Tom Mount. “Conservatism and the GOP are much, much greater than any one person, including Trump. He did some great things as President, for which we should be grateful. If Trump wins the GOP nomination (which seems like a foregone conclusion UNLESS God intervenes, which I pray happens), the following four years will be all about him. ”
Worse yet, he may not win the general election-with so much hostility, strategical and proactive plans to defeat him by all means from liberals and media; so much baggages of lawsuits and unfavorable testimonials by insiders and former associates; Democrats may win and conservativatism will be put to shreds. For that, we need to really be clear headed.
For what “they” have subjected him through, we should not be surprised of what his four years will be focussed on. Will it be good for the country?
I believe another strong republican may still be able to right some wrongs to vindicate him, and save the conservative cause. I do not believe God can only use one person alone to lead the nation.
Loyalty to a person is admirable, loyalty to the country for bigger cause is a higher call.
