The rapture is found in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18:

13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.15For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.16For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18

Not all Christians believe in the coming rapture.

I respectfully disagree.

Indeed, based upon scripture from Genesis and throughout the Bible, the rapture can be scripturally supported.

And now there is a new movie out on the rapture.

The creators of Left Behind have an updated, revised Left Behind movie that shocked the movie industry world.

Why?

Because it came in #5 – among all movies – and no one expected it.

That means it will be playing in the theaters even longer.

By the time you read this, the movie might still be in your area, it may not. [Click HERE to see the locations].

But let me tell you a little bit about why I think you should see the movie.

It is an update of the old movie based upon our recent experience of misinformation and disinformation from the government, the bureaucracy increasing its control over your life, the COVID-19 lockdowns, the increased power of government, and the efforts for a “great reset” of a world order.

The new movie stars Kevin Sorbo and is directed by him.

There are some great scenes and a lot of proclamations of the truth of the good news of Jesus Christ and salvation.

It is good enough to keep your interest, explain the period before the seven-year tribulation, and does a good job of showing the setup of the Antichrist and his deception.

However, the quality

of the film, character development, and acting is good only by Christian standards, not secular. The production…  same thing.

Some may remember the first End Times rapture movie was produced by Billy Graham. And at the end of the movie, he comes on the screen and gives an altar call.

In some ways, this is similar.

Kevin comes on with a message to the church.

And then Mike Huckabee comes on and gives a weak prayer of repentance.

Sadly, he does not mention the cross or sin.

But even with its faults, it’s a great movie.

I would take any kid eight and above to see it.

It would also be great to bring your small group Bible study or Christian friends as well.

And it can be used as a tool for evangelism for those who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

  1. I am one who takes exception to the theory of a pre-tribulation rapture. The theory is based on speculation, conjecture, assumptions, suppositions, and creative imaginations. There is no direct evidence that a pre-tribulation rapture is forthcoming.

Studying the seven feasts of Israel will lead to a different conclusion. God’s timetable is based on these feasts. The fall feasts correspond to the final seven years of this world’s system. Rosh Hashanah depicts the tribulation period. Yom Kippur is the return of Christ on the Day of Atonement. Sukkot is the marriage feast of the Lamb. We might be in the Great Tribulation now. Revelation 11 tells us about two witnesses granted special authority and powers to prophecy for 1260 days. Daniel 12 – see also Daniel 9 – tells us that there are 1290 days from the Abomination of Desolation until the end. The sum of 1260 and 1290 is 2550. The days between Rosh Hashanah 2022 and Yom Kippur 2029 are 2550. This is speculation and thus I use the word “might” to describe it.

I have to disregard most to the New Testament to believe in the pre-tribulation theory. In 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-4 Paul tells us our gathering to the Lord will not happen before the coming of the anti-Christ. This man of sin doesn’t appear until 3.5 years into the tribulation period. How did Paul get it so wrong and if so how can I believe any of his writings?

Finally, how can I believe Christ is the Messiah if He couldn’t get Matthew 24 right? Someone suggested this chapter is out of order. If that is true how can I have confidence that anything in Scripture is right? If the Holy Spirit through Christ can’t get it correct what leads me to believe He can get anything right?

The pre-tribulation theory began in the mid-eighteen hundreds with William Miller in the US and John Nelson Darby in Europe. I have researched these two and believe they are the beginning of the false system Christ warned of in Matthew 24.
