However, Billy Graham’s statue is displayed in the nation’s capital and has two powerful “secret messages.”
In one of the most secular cities in America, one of the greatest advocates for truth and the Word of God stands and is a beacon of hope for all.
I recently appeared on Newsmax’s National Report to discuss Rev. Graham, the unveiling of a new statue of him, and his legacy.
“It’s an exciting moment,” I said. “Just think of it… thousands and thousands of visitors; school children, adults, parents bringing their kids and grandkids will encounter America’s ambassador for Christ.”
“Every time they see that statue,” I continued, “they’ll see him standing there, and underneath, they’ll see a plaque that reads ‘the preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ.’”
The statue’s first secret does not glorify Billy Graham… it creates a central point focusing on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The second secret message is the Bible, which Billy holds in his hand, and everyone can see.. It’s God’s Word, which is central to the good news of Jesus Christ.
And that is a powerful message right in the capital despite opposition.

“If you look back at American history, the First Great Awakening sparked the American Revolution, and then the Second Great Awakening sparked the abolition of slavery,” I said. “And we’re seeing on college campuses now where people, so many people following in Reverend Graham’s steps, crying out for forgiveness and repentance in America for a major change.”

Billy Graham’s message of hope and salvation from your sins because of the cross was his message throughout his whole ministry of the word of God and the salvation message of Jesus Christ.
And that’s what’s being said right with that statue.
And as long as that statue stands, the message of Billy Graham will be heard.
