Controversy exploded at the Super Bowl.
It wasn’t about football or the halftime show.
It was about one ad.
The “He Gets Us” ad is from the Servant Foundation and Come Near Inc., which has financial backing from various organizations, including David Green, the founder of Hobby Lobby.
Below, you’ll find a link to the ad.
Many Evangelical Christians have attacked the ad because they believe that its message is political and not a message to bring more people to Christ.
It costs $7 million for a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl–The two “He Gets Us” ads that aired added up to 75 seconds, costing the non-profit group roughly $24 million.
The campaign creators say they will spend roughly $1 billion in media buys to advertise on more large venue broadcasts like the Olympics and other sporting events.
The creators of the spots say that the ads attempt to remove the idea of Jesus as being owned by conservatives or a religious denomination, replacing the “perceived” hate with a human who loves and forgives.
Over 112 million people saw it during the Super Bowl, and it got over 770 thousand views on YouTube.
One of the responses has been an alternative ad created by a Pastor from Northern Ireland called “He Saves Us” that’s been running on X (Twitter). It has received over 2 million views.
Pastor Jamie says the “He Gets Us” ads shown during the Super Bowl “put a stamp of approval on the ideas, values, and actions of the woke generation, which are not things Jesus approves of… in fact, they are things that he’s against—abortion, homosexuality, transgenderism—things the Bible would consider sin. The message should be that Jesus gives us salvation from our sins, not Jesus’ support of sin.”
Before I comment on the ads next week, I’d like you to look at both ads and tell me what you think about both…
If you listen closely, you’ll hear the same music in both ads.
If you spent 7 million dollars trying to reach people for Christ, w
hich ad would you use?
As a marketing executive who has produced over 500 TV commercials and videos, I’ll offer my unique perspective next week.

Jesus absolutely teaches HATE………..we are to hate sin/evil etc.
Jesus is not all one way or all the other way. He is everything. He is good. He teaches many things. So although He doesn’t make Himself hard to understand, He is not so simplistic as people often make Him out to be.
A wise man will learn of Him.
I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about it. For me, as a person who is saved by the sacrifice of Jesus, the second ad is infinitely more powerful. Thank you for sharing.
I feel the Super Bowl adis the beginning of the journey. Jesus loves everyone. Jesus does not judge. Come to Jesus and be saved.
Jesus will be our judge. Think about the future.
I feel the Super Bowl ad is the beginning of the journey. Jesus loves everyone. Jesus does not judge. Come to Jesus and be saved.
We need this. The world and our nation may be divided in many ways. Love unites us.
The first ad is luke warm .The second ad is red hot.
If you are wanting those who don’t know Jesus to see who he is .I would pick he gets us. I did not feel it was political . The He saves video is religious.Jesus said to lift him up. It is the love of Jesus that draws people closer to him. John 3 :16,17 Jesus loves and draws us into salvation he doesn’t condemn . Jesus was condemned by the religious people of his time ,some things never change.
I would spend my money on the second ad. I saw the first ad during the Super Bowl, which I liked, but I like the second ad much better and think it sends a more precise message.
This ad is misleading of the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ. He calls us to repentance from sin. It is by His Grace we are saved through Faith and JESUS is the author and finisher of our Faith according to the Hebrew writer.
The Bible says in James 2:18-26 these words…18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe — and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
NKJV
The ad came after a demonic ad about witches. I told people that the super bowl is demonic now. Then this foot washing showed up and God’s stamp was put on
