The Jesus Revolution is a powerful testimony of God at work, sparking a revival across America in the 1970s. The movie is now available on Netflix.

I believe this movie came out at just the right time to transform America today.

The movie focuses on Pastor Greg Lauri and his experience during this powerful movement of God at Calvary Chapel in Southern California.

I was part of the Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa tent revival accepting Christ as my personal savior and baptized at Pirate’s Cove with Pastor Chuck, so the movie has personal meaning to me. If you haven’t seen the movie, I encourage you to see it on Netflix—And if you did see it, I encourage you to see it again.

Probably one of the most powerful moments was when Lonnie Frisbee looked at Pastor Chuck Smith and asked him a powerful question.

You see, Chuck Smith’s ministry was a failure. His church was stagnant, with people holding on to religiosity and blinded by their legalism.

Moreover, the church lacked a hunger and thrust for the word of God and rejected the move of the Spirit in favor of comfort.

So, Lonnie Frisbee looked at Pastor Chuck, a broken man, and said, “How desperate are you?”

That’s the question every Pastor, church leader, and Christian must ask themselves.

This is an excellent movie to invite friends over, especially those who are hurting or who’ve become cold… or who have never known the Lord.

  1. My husband actually turned it on ( NetFlix) and we watched it–he is pretty much agonistic, although is often hostile towards the Faith. I am a believer.
Great movie; well done. (Great Music.) I learned a few things about the Jesus Movement.
