Words are important.
It’s been said that whoever controls the use of words, and their meaning controls the culture.
In the 21st century, it’s not conservatives who are controlling the culture. The reason why can be summed up in three words: DIVERSITY, EQUITY, and INCLUSION.
The DEI Monster is that the Progressive Left has changed the meaning of these three words and is forcing everyone to accept their new definitions or face censorship, discrimination, or perhaps even termination from their jobs.
Here’s how the Left has turned the meanings of these three words upside down:
Diversity used to mean that people of different backgrounds were free to join a group or association.
Equity used to mean that equal standards were applied and enforced equally for ALL individuals and groups.
Inclusion used to mean that people of every background and identity were allowed to participate in a group or association.
Today, all three of these words mean the same thing: applying unequal standards to ensure preferential outcomes for individuals and groups based on race, sex, and gender identity.
DEI is ultimately about advancing those who are not white, heterosexual, and male – at the expense of white, heterosexual men – regardless of the qualifications of those who are being advanced.
And there’s another question about DEI that its proponents haven’t answered: When will we know that everything is sufficiently diverse, equitable, and inclusive?
Because nobody has a specific answer to this question, we can assume that the answer is never. We will never be diverse enough, equitable enough, or inclusive enough.
It’s like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The goal is unattainable because it doesn’t exist.
DEI both manufactures and perpetuates the idea of victimhood. It assumes that all white, heterosexual males are born into privilege and that everyone else is not – thus making them victims who can’t thrive on their own without help.
The only beneficiaries of the current DEI obsession are the so-called DEI “experts” who are being paid millions of dollars by large corporations to create DEI “programs” – which only produce division and distrust among corporate employees.
DEI is probably the single most non-productive, self-destructive thing that a business can do itself.
So why do they do it? Because if they don’t set up a DEI program, they will be labeled racist, sexist, and homophobic by the radical Left.
But if they do set up a DEI program, they are admitting that they are racist, sexist, and homophobic!
So, what is the solution? Two things:
#1: Push back against the redefining and the mischaracterizations of words.
Don’t allow the progressive leftists to change the meanings of words. Call them out when they do this and remind everyone who redefines or misuses a word of what the word really means.
#2: Tell the truth.
If someone accuses you of being racist, tell them you’re not – and why. If someone accuses you of being sexist or homophobic, tell them you are not.
The only thing that will stop DEI and set us free from its false view of America is Truth.

One Comment on “The DEI Monster: What It Is and What You Can Do About It [Video]”
I’d like to know when “they” rewrote the dictionary! True, the older edition was wordier, but it was more precise in giving the meaning. The more recent editions want to give briefer meanings, but also less concise. I hold to the older, wordier editions. To me, they are more correct, more precise.
