There are many lies about the economy and inflation from politicians.
People also have many myths about the economy and inflation from teachers, influencers, and the media.
However, people see that prices are rising despite government and media denials.
Prices rose nearly 20% since Biden took office.
Price increases went from 1.4% in January of 2021 up to 20% in just 4 years.
Why?
Because of government overspending, federal regulations, and the failed economic policies of the Biden administration (see my article: Why Inflation is Continuing: Trillions of Dollars of Deficit Spending Ahead—4 Unseen Forces).
Here are the 2 most common myths and lies about what causes prices to rise:
1) “Greedy businessmen cause inflation”
As a business owner, I can tell you that is not true.
My ad agency has worked with both big and small business clients, and I can tell you that inflation is the enemy of every business, especially small businesses.
It’s destructive and makes earning a living, making a profit, and paying workers and suppliers difficult.
Raising prices is never easy and always results in a loss of business.
Your local gas station does not cause inflation.
Your local market does not cause inflation.
Inflation is caused by government overspending. The government is basically printing money, devaluing the dollar. Too much money is created, driving up prices and making everyone poorer.
And it’s caused by unnecessary and excessive government regulations.
2) “Workers are the cause of inflation”
This is not true. Workers who have not received at least a 20% raise have lost money in the last 4 years.
Instead of getting ahead, they have fallen behind.
And it’s all because of government policies. Between federal regulations and deficit spending, the government’s devaluation of the dollar sparks rising prices.
Workers must have a salary increase, but staying ahead in this economy is unsustainable.
This is one part of our growing inflation problem.
As prices soar and families struggle to make ends meet, it’s crucial to understand the root causes and demand accountability– government overspending, federal regulations, and failed economic policies.
